We want to take the time to thank you for your continued business with us. We also want to update you on our response as we weather this microbial storm. Please know that we are, as always, committed to providing timely and accurate tax and financial reporting.
In light of Governor Evers’ announcement that all non-essential businesses will be required to close we want you to know that Batley CPA will be up and running as usual for the most part. We are taking steps, however, to help contain the spread of the virus both to our clients and employees.
We have plenty of work on hand and will continue preparing tax returns, processing payrolls and compiling financial reports. If you need to get documentation to us, we encourage you to drop off the information as opposed to requesting meetings in person. We can certainly accommodate conference calls to review tax documents or to discuss specific issues or concerns. Documents can also be faxed, scanned and e-mailed, or uploaded to our portal.
Delivery of returns and e-file authorizations can be done via e-mail. Originals can be picked up at a later date if necessary. Payments can be handled over the phone. For payroll clients not using our direct deposit service, now may be a good time to make the conversion.
Our systems are designed to accommodate electronic and remote processing and delivery. We may have some staff working remotely, however, that haven’t done so in the past, so please bear with us as we adjust. They will have all our tools at their disposal though.
Both the federal and state income tax filing and payment deadlines have been automatically extended to July 15th. This includes 2020 1st and 2nd quarter estimated tax payments. Our staff have not been unaffected by some form of flu virus this tax season and we are a bit behind. We are continuing to prepare returns as rapidly and accurately as possible as though it were any other tax season, but if you are one who doesn’t mind pushing back your preparation date a bit please let us know. It would help ease some of the pressure in our pipeline.
We will keep you updated as we receive clarification of the governor’s plans. Thank you and please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
